Techno and Breaks 3

peoepoeopeop

As my MIDI-controller is out of the country (on it’s way back tho, hooray! \\o//), this mix is made using vinyls and traktor scratch (which is also a sort of vinyl.) That’s nothing for you to worry about though. Just wanted you to know.

May Chart

What happened to April? :O

May is here and I rounded up some of the highlighted tunes in my playlist. Was hard to cut this one down to 10, making the numbering sort of arbitrary.

1. pole folder – mona kea (human adams remix)
Human Adams recently passed away, leaving behind a large number of impressive remixes and productions. Here’s one of Pole Folder. Rest in peace, and thanks for all the great music!

2. phonat – ghetto burning (mohito mix)
Had a hard time picking the remix (bought 3 of them off bp), but can’t go much wrong with this mohito mix =) bouncy and torn up in true phonat-style!

3. delon & dalcan – 248 km (feat oxia)
Blip-blop, a charmer on the tech-side!

4. jay lumen – calypso (original mix)
This is the producer I would want to radio feed me on a deserted island atm. Everything he touches turns to gold!

5. bob sinclair presents fireball – what i want (teo moss and fredeluxe remix)
Gotta love this vocal, and this remix is very progressive, enabling it squeeze into my chart just ahead of Warren Clarke’s überfunky-mix. Check out the entire EP tho =)

6. sultan & ned shepard – one day (miss nine mix)
This would have been way up in an April chart, had I ever made one.

7. chromeo – fancy footwork (russ chimes remix)
It’s summer isn’t it? Yes, yes it is. And here’s a track to go with the season!

8. simon and shaker – soultech (simon and shaker remix)
I’m having an increasingly hard time disguising my weakness for Simon and Shaker’s recipe for progressive buildups.

9. james harcourt – call & response (original mix)
No chart complete without some techno.

10. rhythm code – the borrower (dave robertson’s remix tech edit)
Topped off by a little more techno.
